GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib and IM Minhaz Uddin Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy took joint lead in the points table with 5.5 points after the 6th round games of Sheikh Kamal International Rating Chess tournament now being held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room in the city.
Six players are sharing 2nd position with 5 points. They are GM Ziaur Rahma, FM Nasir Ahmed, FM Aminul Islam and CM Ikramul Haq Siam of Bangladesh Navy, IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Golden Sporting Club and CM Sohel Chowdhury of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club.
Seven players are sharing 3rd position with 4.5 points. They are FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Sheikh Russel Memorial Sporting Club, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Sheikh Russel Chess Club, Delwar Hossain of Shishu Academy, Ashutosh Kumar of India, Md. Abu Hanif of Sonali Bank, Sk. Rashedul Hasan and M Sariatullah of Sonargaon Chess Club.
In the day’s 6th round games, Rakib beat FM Emon, IM Minhaz split points with GM Zia, IM Shakil beat Uten, FM Nasir beat M. Sharif Hossain, CM Siam beat S M Sharon, CM Sohel beat Ahmed Hossain Majumder, FM Kh.
