GM Abdullah Al Rakib of Bangladesh Navy finished 15th position in the 8th Mumbai Mayor’s Cup International Open Chess tournament that concluded on Thursday in Mumbai, India.
Rakib earned 7 points out of 10 games and tied for the 5th place, he became 15th in tie-breaking system.
GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited became 16th and GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh Navy finished 25th position.
Zia and Razib earned 6.5 points each. M Abul Kashem of Dhaka Chess Club became 114th with 4 points and Kazi Mahbub Afzal of Dabanal Chess Club became 131st with 3 points.
In the 10th or last round games, Rakib split points with GM Mchedlishvili Mikhel of Georgia, Zia split points with IM Ravi Teja of India, Razib beat FM K Praneeth Surya of India, Kashem beat Dave Sneh of India and Afzal beat Sanjeev Pitale of India.
GM Kravtsiv Martyn of Ukraine emerged champion and GM Paichadze Luka of Gerogia finished runner-up with 8 points, both securing 8 points.
