Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) has refuted a news item published in a national daily few days ago.
In a statement on Sunday, RAJUK claimed that the news on approval of some 47 residential projects ignoring the ‘Detail Area Plan (DAP)’was not true and objective.
The report stated that RAJUK approved the projects in flood-flow areas, waterways and arable lands ignoring DAP.
It also depicted that RAJUK is trying to change many basic subjects of the existing DAP and drawing up a new structural plan to form a fresh DAP for the interests of land grabbers.
Actually, RAJUK said, the Cabinet has taken initiatives to amend the DAP considering some of its incorrect and faulty themes.
It goes on saying that the DAP amendment and the residential project approval are totally different topics.
The committee, which was formed as per Land Development Ordinance-2004 (Amended-2012), has only authorisation to approve any residential project. The residential projects are only approved then, when all conditions are met.
The statement said that making a new structural plan is a continuous process. “It is found in almost all the countries taking socio-economic, political, environmental and other realities into consideration, keeping pace with the procedure of time.”
By reviewing documentaries almost all the livable towns and cities, it has been found that their structural plans have been amended for modernising and planning urbanisations, with financial and technological development, it said.
The present structural plan (1995-2015) for Dhaka city clearly states to revise the policy after five years with the city’s changeable conditions.
