Staff Reporter :
Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) is failing to take legal action against the illegal plot owners in Gulshan area in the city due to file missing.
This was disclosed at a Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Undertaking 28th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Shawkat Ali.
But the list of missing flies has not been submitted before the committee meeting for discussion.
Committee Chairman Shawkat Ali said RAJUK has already admitted that it lost the files regarding illegal plot owners of Gulshan area.
Even RAJUK also admitted that people were harassed in many ways when they go to the organisation to get service, he said in the meeting. Besides, RAJUK has been asked to provide all sorts of service to city dwellers.
In 2011 former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan
had also admitted about the file missing in the parliament.
The standing committee also discussed about the last five years audit objections of RAJUK.
The committee has been informed that some 12 projects undertaken by the RAJUK are now being implemented.
Of them five projects are being implemented by government and foreign funds while RAJUK is implementing seven others with its own fund.
The meeting reviewed 813 audit objections of RAJUK and suggested to dispose those immediately as per the guidelines made by the parliamentary body. However, 589 audit objections of RAJUK have already been disposed, meeting sources said.
Committee members Habibur Rahman, Muhibur Rahman Manik, Abdur Rouf and Navana Akter also attended meeting.
