Rajshahi Division earned a convincing an innings and 242 runs victory over Chittagong Division on the 3rd day of the four-day Tier-2 match of the 18th National Cricket League (NCL) at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Tuesday.
Replying to Chittagong Division’s first innings total 141 runs, hosts Rajshahi Division resumed the first innings with overnight total 482 for 5 featuring two centuries by Mizanur Rahman (144) and Juhurul Islam (131) and declared the innings at 558 runs for 9 in 136.5 overs on the 3rd day (Tuesday).
Later, Mizanur Rahman was adjudged man of the match.
Hamidul Islam, who was on batting with 90 runs on Monday, completed his innings scoring 92 runs off 203 balls with 10 boundaries, adding just two runs to his credit on the 3rd day while another night watch batsman Muktar Ali (17) contributed 60 runs off 79 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes.
In reply, Chittagong Division opened the 2nd innings on the 3rd day and were bundled out cheaply for 175 runs in 56.2 overs to suffer a humiliating defeat.
Among the Chittagong batsmen, middle order Yasin Ali fought for their existence contributing an unconquered 78 runs off 133 balls featuring nine boundaries.

In the day’s other match, Sylhet Division required another 148 runs with 10 wickets in hand to win the match against Rangpur Division on the 4th and final day of the four-affairs at Sylhet Divisional Stadium on Wednesday.
Replying to Rangpur Division first innings total 217 runs, Sylhet Division resumed the first inning with overnight total 214 for 6 in 83 overs and were all out for 247 runs in 93 overs, featuring a century one down Zakir Hasan.
Zakir Hasan, who was batting with 91 runs, made a century contributing 112 runs off 203 ball hitting nine four and one six.
Sanjit Saha claimed three wickets for 55 runs while Sajedul Islam, Tanveer Haider and Mahmudul Hasan took two wicket each coneding 26, 38 and 47 runs respectively.
In reply, Rangpur Division opened the 2nd innings and were dismissed for 183 runs in 52.5 overs with lower order Sajedul Islam making not out 44 runs off 60 with six boundaries.
Shahanur Rahman grabbed four wickets for 44 runs while Abu Jayed bagged two fop 25 runs.
Chasing a target of 154 runs, Sylhet Division opened the 2nd innings and scored 6 for no loss in 2 overs.
