Police on Tuesday arrested the driver of a bus, which carrying female students of Rajshahi Government College fell into a ditch that killed three, from the city’s Meherchondi area.
The arrestee was identified as Abdur Razzak of the area.
Tipped off, a police team launched a drive in the area and arrested
Razzak from Battala around 6:30pm, said Alamgir Hossain,
officer-in-charge of Matihar Police station.
Three female students of the college were killed and 20 others injured when a
bus carrying plunged into a roadside ditch after a head-on collision with another bus on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in front of Katakhali Jute Mills in the suburb area of the city on Sunday.
Later, Principle of the college Mohammad Habibur Rahman filed a case against the driver and helper of the bus.
