A teenage boy was stabbed to death allegedly by his uncle-in-law at Shiroil Shantinagar in the city on Thursday for marrying a girl without the consent of her parents.
The victim was identified as Sohel Islam Lavlu, 19, son of Abdul Alim of Baliapukur in the city.
Locals said Lavlu had an affair with Taj Lata, a resident of Bashar Road. They got married six months back without the consent of Lata’s parents. On Thursday evening, Chanchal, maternal uncle-in-law of Lata, stabbed Lavlu with a sharp weapon after getting him alone at Shiroil Shantinagar, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Rajshai Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after admission.
Shahadat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station, said they were investigating the incident.
