National Cricket Championship: Rajshahi beat Dhaka by 24 runs

Rajshahi DSA defeated Dhaka DSA by 24 runs in the 35th National Cricket Championship at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Monday.
Sent in to bat first, Rajshahi DSA scored a fighting 280 runs for 7 in stipulated 50 overs.
Middle order Forhad Hossain (not out 59), one down Naim M Asif (59), opener Avishek Mitra (37) and another opener Tanmoy Ghosh (36) were the notable scorers for Chittagong.
Meraj Hossain and Raihan Sharif took two wickets each conceding 27 and 36 runs respectively.
In reply, Dhaka DSA were all out for 256 runs in 48.5 overs with middle order Asif Ahmed contributing 81, Al Amin 40 and captain Mehrab Hossain Jr 34 runs.
Jahangir Alam made the major damage to the Dhaka innings grabbing four wickets for 31 runs and was adjudged the man of the match. Firaj Mahmud also took two wickets for 37 runs.
The day’s other match between Barisal and Rangpur was abandoned due to rain at Shaheed Aminuddin Stadium in Pabna.
The match started at 2:55 pm and was reduced to 20 over-a-side match.
Sent in to bat first, Barisal DSA scored 132 for 6 in 20 overs before the match was abandoned at 4:40 pm for rain.
