It’s said that one Sundar Shaekhar, who claims to be the son of Haji Mastan, sent a legal notice to Rajinikanth recently, requesting him to not portray his father as a “smuggler and don”. The notice was sent because of the rumours surrounding Rajinikanth’s next project, which portrays him as a Mumbai based don. But his spokespersons clarified that the film was fictional in nature and not based on the life of any real person. This is what their message said: “The film is not based on the life of Haji Mastan. It’s not even a biopic.
It’s just a fictional story set in Mumbai.”
The film is directed by Pa. Ranjith of Kabali fame and is produced by Dhanush.
