After two and a half weeks of sultry weather, rains coupled with heavy winds brought some coolness for the dwellers in Dhaka city on Saturday.
Though the Bangladesh Meteorological Department recorded only a 1.0 mm rainfall between 6.00 am and 12.00 in the noon, a 40-50 kph wind alongside the rain gave the city dwellers some relief from the hot weather.
However, intensity of rain increased to some extent after 2.00 pm.
The Met Office said south and south-easterly wind is blowing and it might continue throughout the day.
Rain intensity might also increase following rains in adjacent districts of Dhaka.
Mercury also declined on the day time as maximum temperature was measured at 32.0 degree centigrade and minimum temperature at 27.3 degree until 2.00 pm on the day.
The Met Office had forecast rains in most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions in the 24 hours starting from 12 noon.
The sun is forecast to set at 6:32 pm in Dhaka on Saturday while it will rise at 5:32 am on Sunday.
