Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind at some places of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am today.
“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Sylhet, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions; at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions,” said a met office bulletin issued here.
Day temperature may rise by (1-2) °C and night temperature may rise slightly over the country during the time, the bulletin added.
The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 33.3 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna and Monday’s minimum temperature was 20.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati and Rajarhat in Chattogram and Rangpur respectively.
Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am yesterday was recorded 92 millimeters (mm) at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
