Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna and Naogaon and it may continue, said a met office press release here on Thursday.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, the met office forecast, adding that weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it said.
Country’s highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 38.8 degree Celsius jointly at Jashore and Chuadanga. The lowest temperature on Thursday was recorded at 22.8 degree Celsius at Sylhet.
The maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am on Thursday was recorded at 33 millimeters (mm) at Netrokona.
