It has been raining in different parts of the country, including the capital, due to cyclone ‘Jawad’. People are suffering in the rain all day long.
On Monday, it was seen on the spot that water had accumulated in some parts of the road due to continuous drizzling rains. As a result, Office-going people and students were suffering the most.
In addition, low-income people and day labourers who work hard are in a severe trouble.
Though cyclone Jawad has become weaker and turned into a deep low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. Consequently, drizzle and moderate rain is falling in different districts of the country from Sunday morning to Monday evening.
And due to this unwanted rain in December, the inhabitants of the capital are in extreme distress.

Mohammad Ruman Mollah, a trader at Capital Market, Mirpur-1, said, “I have a shoe shop in this market. Absolutely there are no buyers since yesterday due to rain. I thought it would not rain today (Monday). But it is raining more than yesterday (Sunday). So I closed the shop and going home. Footpath shopkeeper Masum Hossain said, “We earn every day to maintain our families. I do business on the Footpath. But my shop is closed because of the rain. Now winter clothes are sold more, but sales stopped for rain.” Passengers were seen standing for a long time without getting a bus in the rain. Many passengers also complained that CNG autorickshaws and rickshaw fares were being charged more than double due to the rains.
According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone ‘Jawad’ in the West-Central Bay of Bengal and North-West Bay of Bengal has weakened and is staying in the same area in the form of deep depression.
It may move further north and become progressively weaker. Meanwhile, the sea is now rough due to the effects of the cyclone. Due to this, the number 3 remote warning signal has been issued in the seaports of the country.
At the same time, fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay and the deep sea have been instructed to stay close to the coast.
