The Bong beauty will be seen portraying the role of a bar owner in a crime thriller
There is little doubt that Raima Sen is blessed with acting genes from both her grandmother Suchitra Sen and mother Moon Moon Sen. Even though she couldn’t make it big in Bollywood, Raima has kept the honour of her family name intact in Tollywood. She has been absent from the Hindi film circuit for quite some time now, but promises to make a comeback with an array of new releases.
She has shot for atleast four films to be released this year. While one of them is a love story with a twist alongside actor Prateik Babbar, she will also be seen in a comedy with a social message opposite Kunal Roy Kapur. Raima has completed shooting a film on the attacks on Sankat Mochan temple in 2006 where she plays the role of the wife of a suspected terrorist. Finally, the Bong beauty will be seen portraying the role of a bar owner in a crime thriller that also stars actor Kay Kay Menon. The last time the two worked together was in Honeymoon Travels (2007).
Playing such diverse roles has been an enjoyable journey for the actor. She said, “Playing these extreme and different roles has helped me bring out my inner actor. I worked with Kay Kay again after Honeymoon Travels (2007). I got to know Kunal Roy Kapur, who I had seen in Delhi Belly (2001) but I had never worked with him. He’s a fantastic actor with a great sense of humour.”
“So when I find a director who knows his job and is passionate about it; for me, that’s my support. I’m not too great with an average director, but I’m very good with a good director. I’d say I just got lucky with all four of them, even though with two of them, I’d be working for the first time,” the 37-year-old added.
