Bangladesh Railway East zone will deploy 80 new and renovated railway coach in the existing mail and intercity services and special eid train service during coming Eid season .
Keeping the view in mind, Pahartali Railway workshop of East Zone in Chittagong are now busy to install the new imported coaches and renovation of old coaches in full swing. Window glass, comfortable seats and other fittings are being installing in new coaches and the abandoned coaches are being repaired and painted with full scale services of the workshop technicians and workers, a railway sources said. It is learnt , 30 coach already ready for deploying in the service and the remaining will be completed by this time.
The picture of new coaches for the coming eid special train, mail services, will be declared in the next meeting of Railway at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka on June 11 next, a sources said. General Manager of East Zone Railway headquarters in Chittagong Engr. Md. Abdul Hai told the new nation that the homebound passenger during Eid vacation will get new coaches to reach their destinations.
The newly imported coaches from Indonesia will also be deployed in the special train services aimed to ease the journey of the home bound passengers. Divisional Engineer of Pahartali Workshop Mizanur Rahman told that these new coaches will add with the existing mail and intercity services before the eid vacation.
He also said 30 coaches already ready for service in the workshop and the remaining will be kept ready before eid service. Pahartali workshop Manager Sadequr Rahman said workshop technicians, workers with giving hard labour completing coaches before eid holidays.
Sources said 37 new imported coaches arrived at Workshop from Indonesia in the mean time out of 150 coaches and trial of 15 coaches already done in the tracks. Railway(EZ) sources said there is an initiatives to introduce a pair of special train between Dhaka-Ctg named as Suborna Special beside the existing Suborna Express and other intercity services. Besides,special train viz. “Chandpur Special-1 ” and ‘Chandpur Special-2 ‘onChitagong -chandpur line are expected to be introduced in the coming eid special services, sources said.
