Stressing the need for building the railway as a modern communication system, parliamentary standing committee on railways ministry has urged all to work together to make the railway as a real public transport.
The standing committee in its first meeting on Tuesday also discussed different projects of the railway and said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to developing the railway as a modern communication system for the people.
Committee Chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury presided over the meeting which was attended by Railways Minister Md Mujibul Haq, Md Ali Asgar, Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, Sirajul Islam Mollah, Mohammad Noman, Yasin Ali and Begum Fatema Zohra Rani.
Secretary Abul Kalam Azad and other senior officials of the ministry were also present at the meeting.
