General Manager of Bangladesh Railway, Eastern Zone Mokbul Ahmed formally inaugurated Service Week by releasing balloons in the air on Thursday.
The Service Week began from December 4 and will be concluded upto 10.
Source said that a task force was also established for monitoring the cleanliness of station approach road, updated the time table and fair chart, clean the platform and over bridge, cleaning passenger launch, waiting room, retiring room, Monitoring the water and electricity supply in running train, established first aid box for all station and the running train, prevent ticket blackmailing ,maintaining quality for the supplying foods in running train, maintain proper time Schedule, Cleaning the platform and inside the coach, strictly maintain the dress up for attendant and improvement of service provide in the running train, maintain security measures during the night, take necessary measures for inwards and outwards goods booking and overall safety for the passengers.
Deputy Director (PR) Jobeda Akter said that we are also providing the wheel chair for the physically disable persons and the old age persons.
Safety awareness and other related service will strongly handle during the week long service week and other period she added.
