Railway’s running staff, train drivers, directors, people involved in TTE train operations have given demonstrations, rallies and memorandums demanding running allowance (mileage). The protest took place on Monday in front of the office of the Pakshi Divisional Manager of the Western Railway.
At the rally, the running staff of the train said that they have been working as front line warriors in the economy of the country by providing train passengers from one end of the country to the other at the risk of their lives to keep the railways moving day and night.
At the end of the rally, the affidavit was handed over to Pakshi Divisional Manager (DRM) Shahidul Islam.
Rabiul Islam, joint general secretary of Bangladesh Railway Running Staff and Workers ‘Association Central Committee, Shafiqul Islam, general secretary of Rajbari branch, Mohammad Asad, president of Rajshahi branch and all members of Running Staff and Workers’ Association of Western Railway were present on the occasion.
