Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan today expressed his optimism over the country’s rail system to make the country developed and prosperous.
“The daughter of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made the rail a separate ministry to flourish its system. We want a developed and prosperous country where the rail would play a vital role,” he said, reports BSS.
He was addressing a discussion and a doa-mahfil held at the Railway Bhaban here as the chief guest on the occasion of the “National Mourning Day and the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu”.
He urged all to contribute to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu for building “Sonar Bangla”.
The minister also called upon all to discharge their duties with honesty, devotion and sincerity for the betterment of the country.
With Railways Secretary Dr Md Humayun Kabir in the chair, the discussion was attended, among others, by Bangladesh Railway Director General Dhirendra Nath Majumder and officials and employees of the ministry and railways department.
