Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is always thinking about the people and country .
Under his direction, work is underway to take trains to every district of the country.
Rail Minister made these remarks while addressing the Chief Guest at the Railway’s 41st Annual Sports Competition on Sunday at the Pologround in the city.
Nurul Islam Sujan said the railway has now become an institution.
The institute has a hospital, a school, its own security forces and communication and transportation. We are no longer dependent on others. We can continue with our own income.
He said that the railways once lost propriety. But the railway has come back to glory again under the outgoing plan of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Cox’s Bazar Rail Project is also one of the few mega projects of the Prime Minister. Under his direction, a bullet train is underway on the Dhaka Metro train, Dhaka-Chittagong route. He has taken all measures to make this rail system compatible.
He said work on the double line from Chittagong to Akhaura to Laksam and Tongi was underway.
When this is done, there will be a radical change in the railway. From Chittagong, Dhaka can be visited in very short time.
