Rail communication between Sylhet and other parts of the country was resumed on Saturday, four and a half hours after the derailment of an oil-laden train in Moulvibazar’s Kulaura upazila.
A bogie of the Sylhet-bound train veered off the tracks at Bhatera around 2:00pm, halting the communication of Sylhet with the rest of the country.
Shamshernagar Railway Station master Selim Hossain said, “A salvage train went to the spot in the afternoon and begun rescue work. The train service was resumed as soon as the work was completed.”
