Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society maintained their unbeaten record in the ongoing JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football forcing defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to play 1-1 draw in their 3rd match at the MA Aziz Stadium here on Monday.
Haitian forward Wedson Anselme put Sheikh Jamal DC ahead in the 29th minute by a left footer from danger zone deceiving Rahmatganj goalie Saimul Islam Masum after dodging past two opponent defenders, off a pass of Gambian midfielder Darbo Landing (1-0).
Rahmatganj star forward Siyo Zunapio leveled the margin in the 59th minute by a nice left footer from danger zone, after receiving a pass from substitute forward Syed Rashed Turzo (1-1).
Rahmatganj’s goalie Masum saved his castle by fisting a close range attempt thrice in the 57th minute. Masum first denied Emeka Darlington’s right footer, then Wedson Anselme and finally Rakib Sarker one after another from goal mouth.
In the 75th minute, Siyo Zunapio made a marvelous attack from goalmouth melee, off a Turzo pass from right flank, Sk Jamal goalie Maksudur Rahman came out from the post, and finally defender Linkon was behind to clear the ball by a right footer.
In the 88th minute, Nigerian forward of Sheikh Jamal Emeka Darlington took a powerful right footer from danger zone, but goalie Masum dived and clear the ball.
Sheikh Jamal created some good moves with their attacking football in the last 15 minutes, but all their attempts denied by Rahmatganj defenders, especially by goalie Masum.
After the match, both Sheikh Jamal DC and Rahmatganj MFS collected identical 5 points each from three matches with one win and two draws each.
