Rahmatganj MFS earned a hard-fought 3-2 goals victory over Soccer Club, Feni in the season’s curtain raiser soccer meet–KFC Independence Cup Football Tournament–at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.
Nigarian forward Twum Frank put Soccer Club ahead in the 11th minute (1-0) while winger Sohel Miah equalized the margin for Rahmatganj in the 25th minute (1-1).
After 1-1 first half, Congo forward Siyo Zunapiyo assured Rahmtganj’s victory scoring two goals in the 66th and 72nd minutes respectively (3-1).
Twum Frank reduced the margin for Soccer Club in the injury time of the match but it was too late to avoid the defeat.
Rahmatganj MFS have secured three points while Soccer Club bagged one point, playing two matches each.
Rahmatganj conceded 0-1 goal defeat against Team BJMC while Soccer Club Feni snatched one point from giant Dhaka Abahani Ltd after playing 1-1 draw in their first match.
Today’s matches: Sheikh Russel KC vs Team BJMC (4 pm), and Dhaka Mohammedan SC vs Uttar Baridhara Club (6:30 pm).
