Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society held Mohammedan Sporting Club 2-2 in the Federation Cup opening match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Congolese forward Siyo Zunapiyo put Rahmatganj ahead placing the ball into the net in the very 4th minute of the match utilising a through pass of Syed Rashed Turjo, 1-0.
Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura restored the parity for Mohammedan in the 63rd minute. Bangoura tapped the ball home which was slipped away from the gloves of Rahmatganj goalie Al Amin off a midfielder Mashuk Mia Johnny’s grounder, 1-1.
Shahadat Hossian Shahed struck the 2nd goal for Mohammedan in the 68th minute placing the ball into the middle of the net utilising a mistake of Rahmatganj goalie Al Amin who could not properly glove the ball off a Senegalese defender Ya Ya Sy’s free kick from 35 yards, 2-1.
Siyo Zunapiyo destroyed Mohammedan’s joy adding his second in the 78th minute by a left footer curving shot from the edge of the box, 2-2.
