Playing a goalless draw, both Rahmatganj and Brothers Union moved into the quarterfinals of Walton Federation Cup 2017 from group D at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
With both the teams finishing their group campaign with Rahmatganj emerged as the group champions with four points while Brothers finished runners-up with two.
Team BJMC, the other team of the group, earned one point from their two encounters and has bowed out of the competition.
In the 37th minute, Rahmatganj midfielder Rashedul Islam Shuvo unleashed a fierce right footer from the top of the box but Brothers goalie Kamal Hossain Titu stretched to his limit and pulled off a stunning save.
Brothers were denied by the Rahmatganj crosspiece in the 67th minute with midfielder Md. Mesbah pulling his hair. His looping lob from 25 yards out ricocheted off the Rahmtaganj crosspiece much to the dismay of the Gopibag outfit.
A number of scattered attacks by both the teams failed to change the scenario as the teams shared the points.
