Popular actor and director Rahmat Ali has attached with teaching profession with full dedication. Besides teaching, he is very much regular in acting. He often works in drama serials and faction plays.
This time after a break of long time, he worked in two exceptional story-based plays – Kaisar Ahmed’s Ice-cream O Anubhuti and Shafiul Joni’s Naior.
In the first play, Rahmat Ali acted in a role of an advocate. Its shooting has already been done. In another play Naior, he acted in role of father of the hero. Its shooting will start from middle of next month, Rahmat Ali said.
While talking about the two plays Rahmat Ali told this correspondent, “Stories of the two plays are really nice. Earlier I had worked under Kaisar Ahmed’s direction. New faction story based play is also nice. I think it will be a nice work. In fact, viewers will also enjoy these plays.”
Meanwhile, on the occasion of last Victory Day, Rahmat Ali’s directed a play titled Suchana was staged at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Mita Chowdhury, Wahida Mollick Jolly, Naznin Hasan Chumki and Chitralekha Guho performed in the play.
On the other hand, for the last 24 years Rahmat Ali has been engaged with teaching profession. Now he is also working as Associate Professor at Theatre and Performance Studies in Dhaka University.
Rahmat Ali’s acted TV serials – Alaspur, directed by Al Hazen; Ghomta, directed by Kaisar Ahmed; Hatkhola, directed by Shamim Zaman and Pinjor, directed by Badrul Anam Soud, are being aired on RTV, Banglavision and Desh TV respectively now.
