Thai Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Panpimon Soanapugans said radical changes achieved in the ship-breaking yards of Chittagong overcoming the negative angle of visions of the western countries. He disclosed it while visiting the PHP Shipyard on Sunday evening .
He expressed satisfaction witnessing the progress of the this sector and observed that following the use of modern equipments, the fatal incidents in this industry lessened to maximum extents.
Thai diplomat also hoped that other ship-breaking yards will be grown up like PHP yards which will ultimately survive the bad reputations on environment pollution by the western nations. He mentioned PHP Shipyard is a model of developed shipyard.
Managing Director of PHP shipyard Md. Jahirul Islam welcomed the foreign diplomat in the yard for visiting PHP yard by presenting bouquet. Vice chairman of PHP Group was also present during his visit.
The Thai diplomat accompanied by Ms.Chumpunath, Ms.Pedrampach, CP chairman Suniti Suchat and Thai honourary consul in Chittagong Amir Humayun Chowdhury were present during the visit of the diplomats, sources said.
