Atiqa Islam, recently joined as commanding officer of Rapid Action Battalion Unit-8, during exchanging views with a group of local journalists at her office on Thursday noon, said RAB-8 will operate anti-adulteration and anti-cheating drives during holy Ramzan as well as helping in maintaining law and order.
The RAB-8 CO seeking cooperation from media said like RAB as a special wing of the administration active for curbing crime, journalists also as strong wing of the society could play vital role in curbing crime like drug addiction, militancy, terrorism etc and could help in maintaining law and order.
Officials of RAB-8, a group of leading local journalists were present and participated in the programme.
Mentionable, Atiqa Islam, former deputy commissioner of DMP recently promoted as additional DIG of Police and appointed in deputation as CO of RAB-8 on April 23.
