UNB, Dhaka :A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion on Thursday sentenced five dentists to one-year jail term in a drive against fake doctors in the city.The mobile court of RAB-2, led by RAB headquarters executive magistrate AHM Anwar Pasha, raided Garden Dental Care, Al-Madina Dental Care and Al Hera Dental Care at Karwan Super Market and ‘Zannat Dental Care’ at Ambar Shah Shahi Mosjid Market.During the drive, the court found five dentists fake and practicing without any government registration and proper medical education.The suspects are Dr SM Ilias Hossain of Garden Dental Care, Dr Md Hasanur Rahman of Al-Madina Dental Care, Dr Md Akhter Hossain and Md Tofazzal Hossain of Al-Hera Dental Care and Dr Md Alauddin of Zannat Dental Care.Magistrate AHM Anwar Pasha told UNB that the arrestees were practicing without having any registration from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC).They also could not show any evidence that they successfully attended 4-year BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course and did one-year internship at authorized institutions.The arrestees were punished on charge of providing prescription unlawfully and providing treatment with medical equipment without ensuring these were germs free, the magistrate said.
