Staff Reporter :Two suspected miscreants were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Matuail in the city’s Jatrabari area early Wednesday.The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, RAB official said. RAB’s media wing Director Mufti Mahmud said, “A team of RAB-10 was patrolling near the Katherpool area of Matuail when two youths hurled petrol bombs on the elite force’s vehicle. The RAB officials then opened fire in defense and the two youth were seriously injured.”They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared them dead. The RAB car was partially damaged in the bomb attack, the RAB official said.They recovered two petrol bombs, eight cocktails, a pistol, and a revolver from their possession, the RAB spokesman said.The bodies have been kept at the DMCH morgue after autopsy, said Mozammel Haque, In-Charge of Police Outpost of the hospital.
