Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained cinema actress Pori Moni with foreign liquors after conducting a raid in her Banani residence in the capital on Wednesday.
The Elite force said that it recovered 30 bottles of foreign liquor from her residence.
RAB officials said that they carried out the raid after getting several specific allegations against her.
“Our team conducted raid in the residence of the actress on base of specific assertions against her,” ANM Imran Khan, Assistant Director of the force’s Legal and Media Wing told journalists.
Sources said, the raid started around 4pm. Lt Col Khairul Islam, in-charge of Rab’s intelligence wing entering the house premise along with several plain-clothed DB officials.
Meanwhile, Pori Moni in a Facebook live video from her verified page claimed that some unidentified persons came to her residence and were trying to enter forcibly.
She said in the facebook live that if the persons are be police, she will open the door. But she, however, claimed that they had not revealed their identities.
The actress said that she informed the law enforcement agencies several times urging help but they did not yet come.
Later, RAB disclosed their identity and said they went there to conduct a search in her house.
Pori Moni has been under the spotlight since she made allegations of attempted rape and murder against a businessman.
Pori Moni filed the case at Savar police station on charges of attempted rape and murder against businessman Nasir U Mahmood, and five others on June 14.
Meanwhile, investigators on June 17 said some of their findings contradicted parts of her objection.
On the other hand, Pori accused of vandalizing All Community Club in the same time,
KM Alamgir Iqbal, President of All Community Club said June16 that the actress was vandalizing the club.
