A Dhaka court yesterday again asked Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to submit the probe report of the case filed against Regent Group Chairman Mohammad Shahed and 16 others over issuing fake Covid-19 certificates and illegally charging patients for testing and treatment by December 17.
Magistrate Md Baki Billah of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order as RAB Senior ASP Md Nozmul Haque, who is also Investigation Officer of the case, could not submit any report on Sunday.
On October 8, another Dhaka court asked RAB to submit the probe report by Sunday.
Earlier, the investigators took two more dates to complete the probe but failed.
Twelve of the accused, including Shahed and Regent’s Managing Director Masud Parvez, were arrested and are now in the jail. They were also placed on remand for different durations in the case.
Meanwhile, on September 28, Shahed was convicted for life in an arms case.
