RAB arrests 3 Nigerians in Bhairab; huge passports, foreign money, sims recovered

Members of RAB-14 have detained at least three Nigerian nationals and recovered huge amount of Indian Rupees and US Dollars from Bhairab under Kishoreganj district on Tuesday midnight.
The detainees are identified as Danny Joseph Simon (40), Kanti Angro Abi (60) and Henry Oghenovo Isiri (61).
According to RAB-14, a team of RAB came to know on the basis of secret information that three Nigerian nationals had entered Bangladesh illegally through the Sylhet border. They rented a private car and left Sylhet for Dhaka. On the basis of the information, they were detained along with a private car at the check post in Natal Mor area of Bhairab town. During interrogation, they claimed to be Nigerian citizens and showed their passports.
A review of their passports shows that they have visas to enter India, but no valid documents to enter Bangladesh. Four Nigerian passports, $ 2,620, Indian Rs 2,69,900, 350 Nigerian Naira, 7,000 Bangladeshi Taka and 11 mobile phone SIM cards were seized from their possession.
When contacted, RAB-14, Deputy Director (Additional SP) in Bhairab Camp Rafiuddin Mohammad Jubayer confirmed the matter.
 He said that the arrested foreign citizens had illegally entered Bangladesh through the border areas of Sylhet district with huge amount of US dollars, Indian rupees, naira and taka, and they violated the laws of the country. Legal action is being taken against them.”
