Recently, two passenger’s buses were robbed at Ashulia in Dhaka and Kashiani in Gopalganj. RAB has arrested 10 members of the inter-district gang involved with robbery in the long-distance buses on different times.
The arrested are identified as Hira Sheikh alias Kalam Sheikh alias Soleiman Sheikh (40), mastermind of the gang, Hasan Mollah alias Isharat Mollah (39), Arif Pramanik alias Arif Hossain (33), Nur Islam (53), Raju Sheikh alias Razzak (54) and Rezaul Sarkar. (49), Md. Ratan (38), Shariful Islam (39), Md. Hanif (42) and Nazrul Islam (35).
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director, Legal and Media Wing, RAB, confirmed it at a press conference held at the RAB Media Center in Karwan Bazar at 11:30 am on Sunday.
According to the RAB officials, the gang had robbed more than 15 buses on the highway in the last one and a half years.
They also raped women in a Dhaka-Dinajpur-bound bus during the robbery. There are multiple cases against members of the gang. They get released from the jail on bail and again engaged in robbery.
