A special expedition team of RAB-14, CPSC, TTC Mymensingh Camp conducted an operation on the basis of secret information from Amtali area under Bhaluka police station of Mymensingh. The team arrested Ramzan Ali (45), son of late Asan Ali, from Gatipara of Ishwarganj Thana under Mymensingh district.
It may be mentioned that Pavel Mia, who was killed in the Barahati UP election of the upazila, worked for the candidate Matiur Rahman Bachchu and his neighbor Abdus Salam and others worked for another member candidate Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Ali won the election. As a result of Pavel’s opposition to the election, his party, including Mohammad Ali’s activists Abdus Salam and Ramzan Ali, continued to threaten the dead, including Pavel and his father.
On 08 this month at around 08:00 in the morning, Pavel and several others including his father were hit with Ramda and various indigenous weapons. Later, they were taken to the emergency department of Ishwarganj Upazila Health Complex and the doctor on duty sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. While undergoing treatment, Pavel Mia died next day.
