The Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an alleged rapist on charge of raping a victim from Joypurhat district last night.
After getting a document of a rape case filed with Gangachara Model police station in Rangpur by the victim on July 6 last, the CPSC of Rangpur Camp of RAB-13 started a shadow investigation into the case.
“On a tip off, an operational team of the CPSC of Rangpur Camp conducted a raid in a field in Sadar upazila of Joypurhat and arrested the rapist,” said a press release issued here today by Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Mahmud Bashir Ahmed.
The arrested person is Md Mominul Islam, 35, of Rangpur district.
“During interrogation, the arrested man admitted that he raped the victim forcefully,” the release added.
For taking further legal actions against the arrested rapist, the elite force handed him over to Gangachara Model police station in Rangpur today.
