Five members of a syndicate make confessions in a case filed against them for leaking questions of the admission test of medical college.
On completion of their two days’ remand, investigation officer (IO) of the case, SI Shibbir Ahmed of CID’s Organised Crime Unit produced the accused in the court. As the accused voluntarily agreed to make confessional statements , the IO appealed to the court to record their confessions.
After recording their confessional statements, they were sent to the jail.
The accused persons are Kawser Gazi, S/O Kalam Gazi of Bhandaria in Pirojpur, Sohel Mia, S/O Zakir Hossain of Motlab in Chandpur, Tariqul Islam Shovon, S/O Hasanur Rashid of Kalkini in Madaripur, Rubayat Tanvir Aditta, S/O Alam of Patnitola in Naogaon and Masudur Rahman, S/O Ansar Ali of Kalihati in Tangail.
On October 11, a Dhaka court placed them on a two day remand in a case filed with Paltan Police Station under the Digital Securit Act.
On October 10, Police conducted a raid in Kajla and Dania of the capital and recovered five mobile telephones, a Bikash register and two laptops from their possessions. Later, they were sued under the Digital Security Act.
