Bangladesh has decided to make quarantine a mandatory for returnees from six countries–China, Iran, Italy, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
Shahjalal International Airport health official Mohammad Shahriar Sajjad told media on Sunday night.
“Returnees from these six countries must stay in isolation at home for 14 days whether they show any symptoms of sickness. If the body temperature of any passenger is found 100 degrees Fahrenheit or above, she/he will be taken to Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital at the city’s Uttara for staying in isolation right from the airport,” said the official.
Shahriar said using gloves and masks is a must for the employees of different agencies who are working at the airport.
The official said they are testing the passengers with thermal scanners who come from the six countries and request them to fill-up “Health Declaration” forms.
Three coronavirus infected patients have been detected in Bangladesh, said Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Sunday.
The IEDCR Director Professor Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora informed this at a press briefing on Sunday afternoon.
