Quality primary education can stop dropouts: Speakers

Speakers on Wednesday stressed for eradicating school dropouts and ensuring quality primary education for all children to make them worthy citizens.
They were addressing the discussion organised by District Primary Education Office at Town Hall auditorium in Rangpur to begin observance of the National Primary Education Week- 2015.
The week will be observed through week long programs including like education fair, discussions, cartoon, documentary and puppet film shows, prize distribution and cultural functions daily from January 14 to 20 here as elsewhere in the country.
Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary) Muhammad Dilwar Bakht attended the discussion as chief guest with District Primary Education Officer Dilruba Begum in the chair.
Divisional Deputy Director of the Directorate of Primary Education Mohiuddin Ahmmed Talukder and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Dr Mahbubul Karim addressed the discussion as special guests.
Earlier, a colorful rally led by the Divisional Commissioner, and joined by the teachers, students, SMC members, GO-NGO officials paraded the streets of the divisional city before gathering back at the discussion.
The speakers lauded the time-befitting various steps taken by the present government led by Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina for ensuring quality primary education to produce worthy citizens for establishing a middle income digital Bangladesh.
They called upon the primary school teachers’, guardians and members of the school managing committees to ensure quality primary education through flourishing latent talent of every child in congenial atmosphere.
The chief guest said that an epoch-making success has already been achieved in the education sector and asked for stopping school dropout to ensure 100 percent attendance in the primary level schools for the greater national interests.
