Quality education to build enlightened society stressed

Speakers at a views-sharing meeting have said that ensuring quality education at all levels has become a must in building an ideal and enlightened society through producing knowledgeable citizens.
They put special emphasis on skill development of the teachers and ensuring proper management in conducting academic activities amid congenial atmosphere under the effective supervision of the school managing committees (SMCs). Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) organised the daylong views-sharing meeting workshop on quality education at Dadul High School under Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Thursday.
Sixty participations including members of the SMCs and Parents’-Teachers’ Assemblies (PTAs) of Pukuri School & College, Dadul High School, Mirpur High School and Rameswarpur High School took part in the meeting.
With Intern Officer of Pirganj ADP of WVB Jishael Hembrom in the chair, Fulbari Upazila Academic Officer Shafikul Islam attended and addressed the meeting as the chief guest.
Principal of Pukuri School & College Sekendar Ali, Headmaster of Dadul High School Jahir Uddin, Headmaster of Mirpur High School Yunus Ali, Headmaster of Rameswarpur High School Chandan Kumar addressed as the special guests.
Upazila Academic Officer Shafikul Islam and Intern Officer Jishael Hembrom conducted the meeting as resource persons to disseminate knowledge for improving standard of education and children-friendly atmosphere in the schools. The resource persons explained meaning and inputs of quality education, prevailing problems and way-outs to ensure quality education, learning and teaching methodologies, national education policy-2010, responsibilities of the members of SMCs and PTAs.
The speakers put special importance on acquiring latest scientific methodologies by the teachers to build up genuine teaching capacities and skills in flourishing latent talent of the children through making classes interesting amid congenial atmosphere.
They called for sincere efforts and joint collaboration of the government and non-government organisations and school authorities to ensure quality education at all levels including primary and secondary for producing worthy and knowledgeable citizens.
The chief guest urged the teachers, members of the SMCs and PTAs to work sincerely for ensuring quality education through providing time-befitting knowledge to the students in making them properly enlightened citizens to lead the nation in future.
