Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali called for quality education for sustainable development and turning the country into a middle income one by 2021.
He said this while addressing a scholarship distribution Function on Sunday at East-West University at Aftabnagar in the city. The minister said private universities can play an important role to ensure standard education for the students.
Ali distributed scholarships to 93 students of ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’ semesters on the occasion.
East-West Trustee Board Chairperson and Bangladesh bank former governor Dr Mohammad Farasuddin also spoke at the function with vice-chancellor of the university Professor Ahmad Shafi in the chair.
