Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Oabidul Quader on Sunday asked officials concerned to complete the ongoing repair work of roads and highways before the next rainy season.
“Rain cannot be made an excuse to defer the work by any means,” he told a review meeting with Road Transport and Highways Division officials in the ministry conference room.
The minister asked the officials to complete the ongoing projects within due time.
“Quality should be maintained to repair the roads and highways. Misuse or wastage of public money cannot be accepted,” he said.
Quader underscored the need for strengthening the activities of monitoring teams and coordination of repair and transport management.
Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary MAN Siddique, Additional Secretaries Faruk Jalil and Maniur Rahman, among others, joined the meeting.
