Quader calls to gear up movement against drug, corruption

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader urged everyone to gear up social movement against drug, corruption and food adulteration.
He was addressing a program organized by Dhaka University Sociology Department Alumni Association (DUSAA) at Dhaka University’s TSC auditorium.  
We are assuring you from our party that the government of Sheikh Hasina is determined to make the election in the Dhaka’s two city
corporations free, fair and acceptable. Unfortunately, those who are throwing stones ahead of the polls, is losing the election before it takes place as they are saying the election will not be free and fair.
`However we will provide all out cooperation’s to the Election Commission (EC) from the government’, Quader added.
According to International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bangladesh secured top position in Asia in GDP growth with 8.13 per cent. Our current economy is about 180 crore US dollar and it will be 300 crore at the time of our Golden Jubilee.
It became possible because of brave leadership of Sheikh Hasina who have already made the country taint-free by hanging the war criminals and punishing the killers of Bangabandhu.
Quader said, Hasina carried Bangladesh to a unique position through tremendous development and, thus, she has become a statesmen from a politician as she always thinks about next generation citing Winston Churchill code ‘politicians think about next election and the statesmen thinks about next generation’.
To love people is the only chemistry of Sheikh Hasina’s political success and people also love her for her honesty and bravery, he added.
After returning to country Sheikh Hasina has been maintaining two legacies which include hierarchy of Bangabanddhu in politics and freedom in economy.
Recalling his illness Quader expressed gratitude to all of his well wishers and said, I have entered second phase of my life. I recoveved miraculously and it happened because of your prayers and loves.
Quader congratulated Sociology Alumni for intruding new scholarship named ‘Martyr Sheikh Kamal and Martyr Sultana Kamal Memorial Scholarship’ for 10 students for their outstanding academic performance.
Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Principal Secretary of Prime Minister and President of DUSAA presided over the function while Secretary Md Kamal Sharif and Dean of Social Science faculty Dr Sadeka Halim also spoke in the function.
