Qasida of Dhaka, 3 other Bangladeshi films to be screened in Indus Valley Film Fest, Delhi

Bangladhol-produced documentary Qasida of Dhaka directed by Anarya Murshid is going to take part in the Indus Valley International Film Festival in Delhi.
The event is scheduled to be held online from August 1 to 9. There, films from different countries are collected in various categories. Four films of Bangladesh will be screened in the festival. The other three films are Masud Pathik’s Maya-The Lost Mother, Sakib Sonet’s Nolok and Mizanur Rahman Labu’s Malabhabi.
Bangladesh’s distributor for the festival Manjurul Islam Megh said that the opening film would be India’s national award-winning film Pattakha and the final film would be Manto directed by Nandita Das and starring by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
While talking about his directed film Qasida of Dhaka, Anarya Murshid said, “There are many folk traditions in our country like Qasida, which we may not be able to salvage. But we can preserve it and let the world know. Future generations should do this kind of work even if it is to explain our past. We hope that all the three more films that have gone in different categories at the Delhi Festival will also represent the culture of Bangladesh.”
