Local people caught a big python at Kasemabad area under Gournadi upazila of Barisal on Wednesday noon.
Police took that python to Gournadi police station and preserved that in a cage to handover to forest department for freeing that animal in a safe place, said Abul Kalam, police station officer in charge.
Police and local sources said Babu Khan, son of late Momin Khan, first saw the python at the bamboo bush of their house and informed local people.
Then snake charmer Ali Akbar was called and he nabbed that.
Later police was informed about the matter and they brought the python to police station preserving that in a case of iron-bar.
