The pilgrims, who want to perform Hajj this year under private packages, will have to spend Tk 3,45,800 each.
The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) announced the packages on Saturday at a press conference in the city.
HAAB President Abdus Sobhan Bhuyian said that the minimum cost of the package were set at Tk 345,800 this year. Other than this the pilgrims have to take an additional 525 Saudi Riyal or Tk 11, 812 for sacrificial animals. Travel agents have offered packages after adding cost of food and accommodation.
Of the amount, Tk 1,28,000 for Dhaka-Jeddah Air Fare. The air fare was Tk 138,191 last year. But the price of the sacrificial animal is not included in the package.
“The pilgrims must deposit the money in their respective Hajj agencies, banks accounts by March 20, 2019,” Secretary General of HAAB M Shahdat Hossain (Taslim) told.
He, however, said that the Hajj agencies could announce their own Hajj package facilities to the pilgrims.
He said the Ministry of Religious Affairs and HAAB will not take any responsibility if any pilgrim is cheated by middlemen or brokers.
HAAB also announced the schedule for final registration process of the pilgrims who will perform Hajj this year under private management.
The registration process will start from today (February 17, 2019) which will continue until March 20, HAAB Secretary General M Shahadat Hossain Taslim said.
He said that they must pay the amount of the package by March 20, 2019.
The SG demanded third airline to operate/carry (apart from Biman and Saudi Airlines) Hajj pilgrims.
The holy Hajj will be held on August 10, 2019 (depending on moon sighting). This year a total of 1,27,198 pilgrims are expected to perform the Hajj from Bangladesh. Of the number, 7,1987 will perform Hajj under government arrangement while 1,20,000 under private management.
Those performing Hajj must have the Machine Readable Passports (MRP) valid till February 10, 2020.
Those performing Hajj for the second time or more will have to pay 2100 Saudi Arabian Riyals extra.
An agency can send a minimum 150 to a maximum 300 Hajj pilgrims with each of the flights having three Moallems. To perform Qurbani, 5,525 Saudi Arabian Riyals will have to be paid to the Islami Development Bank.
Those who performed Hajj in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as those who got Saudi visas last year but did not perform Hajj are asked to submit 2,100 Saudi Riyals (Tk 46,935), if they want to perform Hajj this time
Earlier, the Cabinet approved the draft Hajj Package-2019, fixing the minimum cost for a pilgrim at Tk 344,000, Tk 24,645 up from the previous year under package-2 of the government management. Pilgrims have to pay Tk 418,500 to avail package-1 under the government management.
