A private car has been found abandoned at a market in Sherpur’s Shribardi a day after police recovered a luxury SUV from the Sitalakkhya River at Gazipur.
The white Toyota Avanza, with number plate registered in Dhaka (Ga-37-8997), was first seen at Bhayadanga Bazar on Thursday morning.
The locals called police at night after no one came
to get it, said Bhayadanga police OC S Alam.
Police are assuming the car was robbed and dumped by thieves who did not know how to dispose of it.
A general diary was opened over the matter, said OC Alam.
Fishermen at the Sitalakkhya spotted a Toyota Prado, a luxury SUV, in the river on Thursday afternoon.
Police then went to the area at Dassunarayanpur Bazar at Gazipur’s Kapasia to recover the vehicle
