Russia President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Bangladesh sometime this year. Russia Federation ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander A. Nikolaev disclosed the matter to a private television channel in an interview in city on Thursday.
The envoy further said that both the countries have completed works on several important issues regarding the visit. According to Nikolaev, the Russia President may attend the signing ceremony of
Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant deal between the two countries.
Earlier in 2013, Bangla-desh premier Sheikh Hasina visited Russia and signed several agreements on different development sectors. She also invited Putin to visit Bangladesh. However, Putin’s upcoming visit will be the first visit by a Russia president in Bangladesh.
