World Women`s Day will be observed on 8th March to uphold Women`s rights.To significant this day, various arrangement will be held all over the country. The capital will observe this day with different style. Universal Medical College Hospital, located in Mohakhali, has organized a day-long cultural festival called `Concert for Women`.
It is known that only women can participate in this festival. The hospital`s managing director Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakravarti confirmed this.
The program will be held from 10 am to 6 pm on the yard of Sultana Kamal Women Sports Complex in Dhanmondi. This will be open for all women of all levels.
National Film Award-winning heroine Dilara Hanif Purnima will be present in this program known as `Icon Lady` for her special contributions to the country`s cultural arena. Purnima got the National Film Award for acting in Kazi Hayat’s Ora Amake Bhalo Hotey Dilona. On May 15, 1998, she started her acting career against Riaz in Jakir Hossain Razu’s movie E Jibon Tomar Aamar. This year on that day she stepped into 20 years of her acting career. Moner Majhey Tumi, Hridoyer Kotha, Akash Chhoya Bhalobasha, Shova, Shasthi, etc her acted mentionable movies.
RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed will be present as the chief guest at the program. Chairman of Universal Medical College Hospital and Director of FBCCI Priti Chakradarty will preside over this.
