Purnima likely to replace Badhan in film Dohon

Even before the release of ‘Poramon 2’, director Raihan Rafi announced his next film. The production company is none other than Jaaz Multimedia and the movie will star the same duo that was featured in ‘Poramon 2’, Siam-Puja. However, he hinted another female lead in the upcoming movie and he didn’t disclose who is going to be casted in that character. It remained a mystery for couple of months. However, many thought that Azmeri Haque Badhan is going to be the heroine. And their suspicion was indeed right. Jaaz Multimedia officially announced the new movie, titled Dohon, in the city’s Dhaka Club on April 30 evening including revealing Badhan as the another female lead. However, due to her personal issue, she is now parting ways with Dohon team. Dilara Hanif Purnima is likely to replace her for the female lead in the film. With this, she will be returning to the film industry after a year. Purnima-acted last film ‘To Be Continued’, directed by Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi, was released on September 29 in 2017.About being casted in the film, Purnima said, “I did not sign the deal yet, I have been selected primarily.” Purnima is currently busy with television dramas and tele-dramas. Besides working as a model in the television commercials, she caught the attention of the viewers as an anchor. Making her debut in the film industry with ‘E Jibon Tomar Amar’ in 1997, she won the National Film Award for her role in the film ‘Ora Amake Bhalo Hote Dilo Na’ directed by Kazi Hayat. Starring opposite popular actor Riaz, she came to limelight with the film ‘Moner Majhe Tumi’ in 2003. Purnima also acted ‘Megher Por Megh’ based on Bangladesh’s Liberation War director by Chashi Nazrul Islam. She acted in ‘Shuva’, a story based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short story ‘Shuvashini’. Her other notable commercial ventures include ‘Hridoyer Kotha’ and ‘Akash Chhoa Bhalobasa’, ‘Poran Jaye Jolia Re’, ‘Matir Thikana’ in, ‘I love you’ and ‘Judge Barrister Police Commissioner’.
